Plans

Alright, so I have decided upon my shopping list. I will shop after the holidays =] Due to the fact that I am raising this spider in a classroom that gets pretty darn cold I have to have an outer cage and an innter enclosure. What I'm thinking is this; I have my 20 Gallon aquarium and a topper. Then I am going to get a infared heat light (Just gives off heat) and put it over one side of the tank. On the other side I will put the actual enclosure the spiderling will be in therefore not in the direct heat. On that side of the tank will be a thermometer connected to a thermostat so that it doesn't get too hot. Hopefully it won't dry out the enclosure too much, this week I will be doing my homework on how to keep humidity humid even with a lamp =P

Decisions!

After researching species of Tarantula that live in Puerto Rico, I have decided on the Haitian Brown tarantula (Phormictopus Cancerides). I chose these guy because they are the most readily available and grow decently fast, making them a good subject to document in the few months we have until leaving for Puerto Rico. I have read a good amount on this species already, but am always looking for more information! I will keep researching and will hopefully have a shopping list for the terrarium up soon.
